Back from holidays

Hi there,

I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year and that the kids are enjoying the holidays.

We have just come back from nearly 2 weeks of camping down at the beautiful Bremer Bay.  It is right on the coast and we just love it there.  We try to get there at least once a year, but last year we just didn't make it, so it was great to get there.

We spent a lot of time relaxing, which we needed after the year we had last year, catching up with friends we hadn't seen for a while, going to the beach, I think we went to a different beach each day and I even got in the freezing water and swam too!  We went fishing and for a few drives down tracks to beaches.  We all had a fantastic time.  Brad managed to catch a stingray that took 40 minutes for him and his mate to reel in and they had to take turns!!  They just cut the line and let it wash back in to the water, they weren't going anywhere near it.  If I can get the photo onto the computer, I'll post it for you.

Brad bought me a new lens for my camera for Christmas, so I got to have a play with it whilst we were away.

I took this shot at Dillon Bay, where we were fishing one day.

I love photos of the ocean splashing against the rocks.

Well thats it for now, have to feed the kids!

Thanks for stopping by.

A Post.....finally

Well hello there.  Sorry I have been away for quite some time, but we have had a lot of family illness over the last 6 months and I have been studying trying to get my course finished and well, life in general and I just haven't had time to do anything.

I am nearly finished my course, I just have 3 assignments and 7 days of Prac to go and I will be finished and hopefully a qualified Education Assistant.  Yayyy, something to cross off my bucket list.

But I thought I would just come on and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.  I know we are hoping for a much better 2012.

I have been doing a little bit of scrapping and card making over the last month or 2.  Working at Scrapbooks from the Heart during the week seems to have helped me find my inspiration again.

This is a layout I did using one of this months Kaisercraft - Sweet Nothings range.  This photo is of my Great Grandparents on their Honeymoon.  I cut out the flowers and birdcage from another piece of the same paper and used foam tape and scrap dots to raise it up.

Well, hopefully I will be able to keep up with my blog a bit more next year.

Merry Christmas

A few Exmouth Pics to share

Today I thought I would share a couple of photos from our holiday to Exmouth in May.  I had only been there once when I was about 15 and it was only for the day, so I didn't get to see too much.  This time, we saw a bit more because we were there for a week.  But I thought Exmouth was a lot bigger town than it is.  But we did manage to find a really nice beach out at Turquoise Bay, which is part of the National Park up there.  Brad taught me to snorkel and I loved it, I can't believe I was so scared of it.

It was so beautiful here and the water was about 3 shades of blue on this day.  The photos don't really show it how we saw it.

Chloe was having a great time swimming and collecting shells.

Luke thought he might have a go at snorkelling too, but he looked more like Darth Vadar.

Well thats it for me for now.  I might be back later with a few cards I made last week.

Chloe's 6th Birthday

Our little Chloe turned 6 two weeks ago.  I have to say that I was a little sad.  It feels like only yesterday that she was so little and just learning to walk and do things.  But, now she is a big year one girl, who is learning to read and count in twos and all sorts of things.

I thought I would share a couple of photos from her birthday.  She had such a great time.  She asked for a Barbie ice cream cake from the Woman's Weekly cake book.

It doesn't look exactly like the book, but she loved it anyway.

And, of course, the presents were the best part of the day.

She was pretty happy with her new DSi that she had been asking for.

She had a couple of friends come over after school for afternoon tea and birthday cake and we covered some notebooks and they decorated them with butterflies, flowers and some shiny rhinestones to take home, which they all loved doing.

I'm off now to go and make 2 Thank you cards.

A Tattered Teddy Card

Hi there,

I'm still here.  I had 2 assignments left to finish and I wouldn't let myself have any play time until they were finished and posted off.  Well, I sent the last one off last Friday, YAY, so this week I have had a little play time.

Yesterday, I played with a new Tattered Teddy stamp Mum got from a magazine and he is sooo cute.  I was a bit scared of using him at first because of all the detail and what colour to use and I'm not that great when it comes to stamping.  But, he actually turned out and I'm pretty happy with him.

Isn't he cute??

Well, I'm off to find a hot cup of tea as it is freezing and my fingers feel like they are frozen.

10 Minutes From Home

About a month or two ago, I said I was going to have a go at a challenge that was on a photography site just for my own benefit and out of interest.  The challenge was to go 10 minutes exactly from home either walking, driving, on a bike, roller blading however you choose to and take a photo of whatever was at that 10 minute point.  And it had to be a black and white photo.  Well today, I actually got to it.  With our computer dying on us and going on holidays and then everyone being sick, I just hadn't had the time to do it.  So today I went for a walk and Luke rode his bike and we kept going until it was 10 minutes exactly, which happened to be at a park we go to regularly, I just kept walking a bit past the play park part, and yes we did go back so he could play.

Remember I am still learning how to use photoshop.  Here is what I came up with.

And this is the original photo before I played with it..

Thanks for dropping by.
