Some Scrapping

I'm back.  Two posts in one day...I have some catching up to do.

I thought I would share this with you.  I started it yesterday and finished it off today.  I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out as I'm still learning how to do Heritage type scrap layouts.  The photo is of my Great Great Grandparents, there isn't a date, but I'm thinking it may have been very very late 1800's as there is a photo of my Great Grandfather in 1916 and 1920 and he was in his Army uniform.

I have used Basic Grey Cappella Paper (from Scrapbooks from the Heart) as the background.  Adorn it mini alphas for the journalling, a paper doily sprayed with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist, Muslin sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer mist, Collections Butterflies that I have added Diamond Dust (that I got from Scraptique) onto their wings, flowers that have also been attacked with Diamond Dust and Deep Purple Glimmer Mist.  I have embossed white Bazzill cardstock with Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fade Embossing folder - Postcard and then inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The cute Charm badge is from American Crafts Dear Lizzy - Enchanted range of embellishments (also from Scraptique).

I'm off now to do some studying.  I missed it over the holidays and was a bit excited to get my books yesterday so I could get started again.

I'm Still Here

I haven't posted for a while, so thought I would just do a quick one to show that I am still here.  I haven't been doing so well with my photo a day.  It's just been so hot here in Perth, that I don't want to go outside anywhere to take photos and there is only so much you can photograph inside!!

Chloe is loving year one at school and they just started up Edu-Dance there yesterday.  They do it for one term and at the end of the term they put on a concert.

Luke passed his Stage 1 at swimming lessons the other day and he was so proud of himself.  He got a 'Big Ticket' Certificate that he loves looking at.

I have actually managed to do some scrapbooking after a long while of not having any inspiration to do anything.  I went and got some photos printed the other day, so that got me going again.  I did a double page of the U2 concert we went to in December, I'll put some photos up later of that.  I also started a page of a photo of my great great grandparents.  My Uncle put a pile of old family photos and marriage certificates and army discharge papers and other cool stuff onto some discs for me.  I'm going to scrap an album of a bit of our family history with all the old photos and the stories behind them so the kids can have it to look at.  There are a lot of interesting stories that I have been hearing about, so I can't wait to scrap it all.

I do have a couple of photos to share.  I bought what I thought was a white flowered frangipani, but to my surprise when it flowered it wasnt' white at all....

This is the plant below and it has nearly doubled in size in a month!!!  Must all that good fertilizer Brad brings home.

Time for me to go, Luke has swimming lessons now.

First day of Year 1

Today I'm feeling a little sad as our little girl is growing up a bit too fast and has started her first day of Year 1.

She was a bit excited to be going to see her friends, but once the bell went, she got a bit upset and there were a few tears.  She only has one of her friends in her new class this year, but they aren't sitting together, so I think it's all a little daunting and I remember it being a bit scary on the first day.
We took some photos of her on her first day before we left for school

I hope she has a really great first day today.

As for me, I'm feeling a little bit lost and Luke is watching a movie.

Day 33 - Ready for back to school

Well, it's that time of the year, and Chloe is going back to school tomorrow (Friday).  I have been busy contacting 8 scrapbooks in Tinkerbell and My Little Pony contact for her.  And..she loves them.  This year she has to have lots of things and everything labelled with her name on it as she is going into Year 1, so they get to use all their own things.

So, I thought that for todays photo, I would take a pic of all of her school stationery and her new lunchbox too.

I'll be back tomorrow with photos from first day of Year 1.  I can't believe she is going to be in Year 1 already.

Visit to the Park and Day 32

Well, I have managed to get photos uploaded for 2 days in a row..  Now to see if I can keep it going.

Today I took the kids to the park to play before it got too hot and then afterwards, we went to the library.

I took some more photos in RAW image, a couple looked a bit grainy, so I think I have to keep practicing my skills and my editing as well.  But as they say, practice makes perfect!

Here are my little spiders on the spider web at the park down the road from us

And here is my Day 32 photo

Project 365 - Day 31

I seem to be doing Project 365 - every second day, I should be calling it something else!!  I will try to do much better in February.

Today I have been playing with the RAW image setting on my camera.  I'm still trying to work out what this is, but it seems to take good photos.  I read in the manual briefly that it lets you do the white balance and other things in the editing afterwards, so I will keep reading up on this.

Here is todays photo

Chloe loves this doll and has been carrying it around most of the holidays, changing her clothes, taking her for rides, talking to her and including her in everything she does.  Her name is 'Dolly'.

Be back soon with Day 32

29/365 Project

Ok, I didn't acutally take this photo today, I took it just before Christmas, but I have downloaded another cool app on my iphone that changes photos to what they would have looked like if they were taken years and years ago.  I liked how this one turned out, so thought I would share it today for my Day 29 photo.

Don't you just love Luke's cowboy hat??  He wanted to wear it into the shopping centre and good ol' Santa let him wear it to have a photo taken.

Day Twenty Seven

I took this photo with my iphone and was having a play around with one of the new free photography apps I had downloaded to my phone.

I changed the photo to sepia and added a rubbed looking border.

Day 23

Today is yet another hot day here in Perth, so the kids have been watching movies and playing games.  I got called into Chloe's room this afternoon to come and see what they were doing and when I went in, they were playing hairdressers.  Each having a turn to do the other ones hair and giggling the whole time.

Twenty One

I'm a little behind with uploading these and haven't really had too much to take photos of lately as it has just been too hot for us to do anything.  But here is my photo for Day 21

Luke got 2 lots of tool boxes with tools in and drills that work for Christmas and he just loves them.  He is always getting them out and telling me he is 'fixing things'.
