A Bit of Creativeness

Over the last couple of days I have actually managed to get some scrapbooking done.  I think part of my mojo returned thank goodness.  I did 2 layouts.  I used a sketch for both of them, and both sketches came from the new Pagemaps 2 book by Becky Fleck.  I really enjoyed doing these.

Here is the first one I did

For this layout I used Crate Paper range Brook Collection, Marsh Co-ordinations Brown and Cream cardstock. Prima lettering and Carolees Creations mini alphas, some buttons and a DCWV coloured chipboard owl embellishment.  Isn't he cute??

For this next layout I used the new Echo Park Little Boy range.  I just love these papers, they are nice and bright for boys.

And below is on an angle showing the flags sticking up.  I used Scrap Dots for these and they are stuck to some red floss.  I also used Red cardstock for the base, Kaisercraft black rhinestones and October Afternoon Alphabet for the title.

19/365

Todays photo is of Chloe's beloved Puppy.  She has had him since she was very little and she is now 5 and  a half and he still goes everywhere with her.

This is how he looks now

He has been washed many many times and has been lost a couple of times at the shop, but luckily we always managed to find him.  We have bought 2 others exactly the same at different times over the years to try to replace him with a 'newer' one, but she wont have a bar of them.  She gave one of them to her little cousin Maddie when they came to stay with us to make her feel  comfortable while they were staying with us and she now carries her 'puppy' around everywhere with her too.

Here is a photo of what Puppy looked like when he was new

So as you can see, he is a very well loved puppy.

Day 17 of Project 365

On Monday we went to Faulkner Park in Belmont with Playgroup or the Volcano Park as my kids call it because it has a giant volcano built in the middle that has smoke coming out of it sometimes.  It's a great park and has heaps for the kids to do.  There are swings, a flying fox to sit on, water that spurts out of the ground (you may need a change of clothes for the kids if they find this part!) and there is also a smaller kids play area too and the best part is it is all fenced off so they can't get out.

Here are some other photos I took while we were there.

I had a play around with the sports modes and some quicker shutter speeds to get some photos in motion.
It's a really great park with lots of shaded areas too.

Week 2 of Project 52

Hi all,

Todays post is my photo for Week 2 for Project 52.

I know I already did a post for this the other day of Chloe playing Guess Who, but I had linked it too early to the wrong post...I got a bit confused.  Anyway, Jenae over at Project photo has put the link up now for this weeks photos where our challenge for the week was Games.  I managed to get this photo of Luke playing Totem Tennis whilst sitting on his bike!!

I had a good laugh when I saw him doing this and just had to grab the camera!!

Day 14

Well, today is Day 14 and although I haven't taken a photo every single day, I think I have done pretty well and only missed out a couple of days.  I will try to do better for the rest of the month.

Todays photo is of Miss Chloe taking a photo of me taking a photo of her, if that makes sense.

I had a play with the Shadow tuning on this photo today and I was also playing with a few different settings on the camera to try and get a photo in focus manually.

Day 12

I have been trying out some different types of things to photograph so I'm not just posting photos of the kids everyday.  Which is why I took photos of my Grandfathers old camera in a previous post.  Today, I decided to try and take a photo of my new Pandora bracelet that I got for Christmas.  Here is how I went

It's actually quite hard to get a photo with the whole thing in focus, but I think I did ok.  I can't wait to get some more charms to fill it up.

Day 11/Week 2 Project 52

This week Jenae gave a prompt of Games for Project 52, so when Chloe came out today with her Guess Who game asking if I could play a game with her, I said absolutely.  Santa gave this game to her for Christmas.  I used to love it when I was a kid and my brother and I played it all the time until it wore out from being used so much.  And now, Chloe loves playing with hers.

I managed to get this photo while we were playing

I love this photo, it's so natural

Day 10

I thought it would be great to take a photo of my Grandfather's old camera that he gave to me when I was doing photography at school and really starting to get into it.  I have had it packed away for all these years through all our house moving.  I took these photos in full manual mode, having a play, they have come out a little grainy, but they were on a wood surface too.

This photo is of the top of the camera showing the old dials

And this is the old case that it came in.  It is a hard case.

The kids love playing with this old camera and pretending they are taking photos with it.  I should get a roll of film and see if it still works.

Thanks for looking

Day 9

Here is Day 9.  I have been finding it difficult to get photos of Chloe as she is a bit shy sometimes with having her photo taken, but I managed to get this one today.

She is playing with my Grandfather's old camera.

Day 8

Ok, so I am a little behind with my 365 Project, but I have taken a few photos over the last few days and just haven't had time to load them up or they just didn't really work out.  So I am going to load up what I have that worked.

So here is Day 8

We went to a friend's birthday on Saturday night and this is the cute little owl card I made for her.  The owl is a punmch from Stampin Up, isn't he cute.  The branch is from a bird punch, also from Stampin Up.  I punched this out in White cardstock and sprayed it with Hula Hoop Glimmer Mist and the scallop circle behind is a Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped circle aslo cut out in White cardstock and sprayed with Pink Taffy Glimmer Mist.  I used Kaisercraft rhinestones for his eyes.

Thats all for Day 8

Project 52 - Week 1

I have decided to take part in a different challenge.  After a week of doing project 365, I am finding it a little difficult to get photos every day with it being so hot here and not being able to go and do things. I am still going to have a go at it though.  But I am going to take part in Project 52 that Jenae from Project Photo is running on her blog.  It is to post your favourite photo from that week and to make it a bit more fun and interesting she is going to give us a prompt each week to go with.  The prompt for this weeks photo is Games.  Head on over to her fab blog to check out what it's all about and join in if you like.

Week 1 was to show our favourite photo from last week.  Mine is this one of Chloe at the beach.  She was having such a great time and didn't want to leave.

I'm off now to try and get creative.

A Little Creative

I actually had a chance to sit down and be a bit creative the other day.  It's been quite a while since I last did anything.  I lost the inclination to do anything with being so busy leading up to Christmas.  But I have to say it was nice to do something.

I got the new Kaisercraft Diary for 2011 and here is what I did with it.

I used Bo Bunny papers from the Love Bandit range.  I love them they are just so cute.  My little owl friend is a punch I got from Stampin Up and the branch he is sitting on is from the Stampin Up Bird punch.  The metal Butterfly charm at the top is from the American Crafts, Dear Lizzy Enchanted range.  And some ribbons I had in my stash.

I also covered the insides and back with paper from the same range.

I'm hoping to be able to make a bit of time to creat this year, I didn't do too much last year because I was busy with other things.

Day 7

I'm early today.  I managed to get a photo of Luke outside playing with his new Buzz lightyear water pistol that he got for Christmas.

Day 6 photo.  I'm a little late with this one, but I didn't get a chance to upload yesterday.

I love the look of concentration on his face.

Day 5

I struggled a bit with what to take a photo of today.  With it raining and Chloe and I are still sunburnt made it a little hard.  But I really wanted to use this photo I took on New Year's Day of our old boy Rusty.  He is an 11 year old Lab and Brad and I got him when he was about 7 weeks old.  He has been everywhere with us and we even used to fly him down to Perth from Kalgoorlie and back again when we lived up there.

He is Luke's best mate and follows him around and Luke just loves him.

I took this photo when I took photos of the kids the other day, but decided to use one of the kids photos for my photo that day, so today, it's Rusty's turn.

I'll be back later with Day 6 photo

Day 4 of 365

I uploaded Day 4 photo to 365 Project yesterday but it got too late for me to show you on here, so I thought I would do it this morning.

I have always admired close up photos of pretty flowers and always wanted to take one.  So I decided to go outside to our garden and give it a shot.  This is what I came up with for Day 4

I have been trying to work out for quite some time how to get a black and white photo with just a little bit of colour to highlight an object and finally the other day when I was having a play on Picasa I worked it out.

The original photo below

I shall be back later on with my Day 5

Have a great day

Day 3

You would be thinking that I am doing a water theme for my 365 Project, but it has just been so hot here this week, that the kids have been playing in water to keep cool.

Today we headed down to South Beach in Fremantle.  A good friend has been telling me about how great it is there, so we decided to check it out.  And she was right.  It was fairly quiet, for a beach and the kids had a great time.  They didn't want to get out of the water, not bad for 2 kids who 12 months ago didn't like the sand or the beach!  However in all our fun, we did manage to get a bit sunburnt.

Here is todays photo.  I think Chloe's face says it all

And I really love this photo of Chloe, she was having such a great time

Well it's off to bed for this little sunburnt lobster.

Day 2 of 365 Project

I'm doing well so far, it's day 2 of the 365 Project and I am uploading my photo as we speak.  Here is the link to my page

We put the sprinkler on for the kids this afternoon and you wouldn't think that it was the first time they had ever played in the sprinkler, they loved it.

Here is my photo for Day 2

I also got this action shot of Luke too.  I managed to get both kids mid air jumping over the sprinkler.

A Challenge

I have decided to try and do a bit of a challenge for this year.  I am all inspired with my new camera.  I was checking out blogs of 2 friends from playgroup today and they are taking part in a 365 Project challenge, which is taking a photo and uploading it every day.  I'm not too sure how I will go, but I'm going to give it a try and hopefully it will help me learn a few things too.  If you hadn't noticed, I'm very eager to learn all about how my camera works.

So, this afternoon while the kids were out the front playing on our neighbours slip 'n' slide I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to have a play around.

This is what I came up with

This is the photo I loaded to my page on the 365 Project.  I used the 'warming' effect on Picasa.  And I'm so happy I managed to capture water splashing too.

I also got this photo of Chloe sliding along, but I could only put one photo up today.

I used the 'warming' effect on this one too.

Well thats it for today.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to my new look-newly named blog.  I finally worked out how to get a photo as the header that isn't too big (I have been trying since I started this blog) and write the title on the photo too, so I have learnt 2 new things already this year.  I think I'm off to a really good start already.  lol     I decided to change things around and start fresh with a fresh new year.

I got a fantastic new Nikon digital SLR camera for Christmas from Brad and the kids and I just love it and I'm having lots of fun playing with it and learning as I go.  So this year I am planning to load more photos on for you to see as I learn.

We went for a day trip up to Guilderton/Moore River on Wednesday with our neighbours.  Although it was very windy, we still managed to have a bbq for lunch and have a great time.  Afterwards we went to one of the parks there and I took some photos of the kids playing.

Chloe wont let me get too many photos of her at the moment, but I managed to get this one while she was climbing

Brad and Luke playing cricket.

I hope you enjoy following my new blog this year.
