Scrap the Boys Challenge

How is everyone today? It's a bit cold here today, but we have had a break in the rain. Great weather for scrapbooking.

I decided to have a go at the Scrap the Boys challenge today, the challenge was to scrap one of those nothing portrait photos of your little man and to put some facts about them right now on the page. I have to say, I really enjoyed doing this challenge and can't wait for their next one. I even made one of the embellishments to go on the page, first time I have attempted to do that!!

So, here it is
I made the felt embellishment lollypop flower and quite liked it. The cogs are cut from one of the new Tim Holtz Sizzix dies and then I glimmer misted them with Peppermint Stick (red) and Raven. Title is American Crafts Thickers, ribbon and papers are from K & Co and Creative Imaginations and a little charm hanging from the ribbons that says Laugh.

The journalling facts read: You like to ride your bike, Have a CHEEKY smile, Favourite Movies: Toy Story and Bolt, Love Milkshakes, You have a contagious laugh, You 'Ben 10' everyone, You give lots of cuddles.

Thanks for looking

A Giveaway from Purple Pumpkin

I have just found this new blog PURPLE PUMPKIN that has recently been started. There is some very cute handmade buttons and embellishments on here and to celebrate starting up her new blog, Samantha is giving away an embellishment kit in your choice of colour, so head on over and check it all out.

Some Scrap Layouts to Share

I haven't done any scrapping at all since I came back from my weekend away about a month ago, so 2 weeks ago I went along to the Friday Frenzy at Scrapbooks from the Heart (where I work) just to play with my friend Kaye. And I managed to get 3 pages done, I was so pleased with myself, I didn't think I would even get 1 finished. But here is what I got up to.

I took this photo of Luke in March, he is all ready to jump in the pool for his swimming lesson. He absolutely loved it and was ducking his head under and swimming on his own with his floaties in the second lesson. A bit of a water child I think. I really love the train paper and wanted to make it partly a feature on the page, so I haven't added too much else. The paper range is Animal Stackers from Three Bugs in a Rug. And I cut out the title using the Lyrical Letters cartridge on the cricut. And the lion is also cut on the cricut from the Animal Kingdom cartridge.

I couldn't resist scrapping these photos of Chloe, I took them just after her 4th birthday and we were going to the shop and this is how she came out ready to go. I let her go like that, but took photos first. But she didn't want any photos taken.
I have used paper from My Little Shoebox, and when I saw this paper I just knew which photos were going to go on it. I cut the butterflies out with my Cuttlebug using a Sizzix die and then embossed them in the cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder and then sprayed them with Key Lime Glimmer Mist. The flowers were also attacked with Glimmer Mist, Pearl and Pink Taffy. A bit of a Prima bling flourish in the corner and a Twiddleybitz owl, also attacked with Glimmer Mist - Gold this time and yep you guessed it, the tree branch was also attacked with Glimmer Mist, Olive Vine and then I hung a little fairy charm off the branch, isn't she cute? The title is Prima Alphas.

And lastly, these photos were taken on Bremer Beach at Bremer Bay at Easter. We parked up at the beach for a day of fishing. The kids all had a great time and we even managed to catch some fish too. Although the weather was being a bit silly that day. It would rain, and then the sun would come out and then it would rain and then the sun would come back, it was like that all day, but it didn't spoil our fun. Luke had a fantastic time 'fishing like Dad' even though his line didn't go in the water, he still thought it was fun.
This page took me no longer than 10 minutes to do and I love it. I kind of threw the photos on the page and the chipboard embelly and voila I had a page. I can't remember exactly what the paper was, but I distressed the egdes of it and the alphas are American Thickers Foam alphas, a Twiddleybitz chipboard embellishment I sprayed with Saphire Glimmer Mist and then a couple of fishing 3D stickers I had bought ages ago for a fishing page.

Well that's all for me tonight. Until next time.
Night all

Chloe's Scrap Page

I just wanted to share how clever my Chloe is at 5. I made her up her very own scrapbooking kit for her Birthday and she was so excited when she opened it because she had all her own 'new' things to play with and not just my scraps and left overs.

She got to scrapping after school and this is what she came up with all by herself. She even picked out the photos she wanted to use.

These photos are her on her rocking horse that she got for her First Birthday from her Uncle Daniel. She is 2 in these photos.
I think she did a pretty good job.

Our Little Princess is 5

Well, it's been a whole month since I blogged anything...oops...I have been a bit busy as it was Chloe's 5th Birthday in June, so I spent quite a bit of time getting that organised. I organised a little party for her at McDonalds with her school friends on the Monday, and then on Tuesday for her actual Birthday she took Butterfly cupcakes to school for her class and then we had Grandparents over for dinner and then another small bbq party on the weekend with family friends. So it was quite a busy time. But Chloe had a great time and that is the main thing.

She got a new Purple Tinkerbell bike for her birthday, which she loves. She only had the training wheels on for about 4 days until Brad gave in and took them off and once again, she took off down the road on 2 wheels on her bigger bike, and there has been no stopping her.

This year Chloe requested a number 5 cake for her Birthday Cake, so I iced it in her favourite colour...Purple

And here is all the cupcakes she took to school.

And because we can't have a real cat, I am allergic to them, and Chloe really really wants one, she got a Fur Real cat named Lulu for her birthday. This cat looks real from a distance and does everything a cat does except eat and make a mess. It purrs, meows, lifts it's paw, rolls over, it's ears, eyes and mouth move. She just loves it and it sleeps on her bed.

Well that's it for now. Will be back shortly with some scrap pages I did at a Friday Frenzy a week ago.
Bye for now
